We are experienced in representing individuals and businesses (union and non-union) in labor, employment, and administrative law matters. We handle grievances, administrative agency hearings, disciplinary appeals, Equal Employment Opportunity cases, and disputes involving Fair Labor Standards Act on both the State and Federal levels.
While we enjoy an impressive record of courtroom achievements, our firm recognizes that litigation is not always in the best interest of our clients. We have developed an equally impressive record of embracing alternative dispute resolution strategies and enjoy success in arbitration proceedings and mediation / settlement conferences.
We represent a variety of individuals and business entities in commercial disputes. We work to intervene early and avoid formal litigation, if possible. We also provide a wide array of transactional advice, addressing risk transfer and insurance needs; and preparing formation documents, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and sales/distribution agreements for our corporate clients.
Our firm was founded primarily as a construction law firm, and we continue to be proud of our construction law groups to this day. We have significant experience handling all types of construction litigation, and consulting with clients to minimize and shift risk before litigation occurs. Our litigation experience extends from small residential construction projects and single-family home matters to the intricacies of handling some of the largest residential and commercial construction cases prosecuted in the United States.
In the non-litigation context, we are partners with our clients in consulting on transactional matters, including the negotiation and development of contracts and insurance programs. We have extensive experience coordinating client insurance policies with sales and construction subcontracts, and helping our clients implement other pre-litigation risk management strategies.
In the litigation context, we specialize in litigating mechanic's liens, delay claims, contractual disputes, warranty claims and construction defect and products liability litigation. We have an aggressive approach towards risk transfer and take pride in our record of risk transfer and avoidance. We have further successfully litigated some of the largest construction disputes in the Country and believe that our results speak for themselves.
We have experience litigating environmental and toxic tort claims. These include cases involving allegation of water pollution, mold contamination, and sick building syndrome. These claims present unique factual and legal issues which require experienced attorneys to be handled effectively and efficiently.
We represent residential and commercial clients with construction, construction-related accessibility, and construction-related injury matters pertaining to the Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act. This includes both litigation and pre-litigation risk management related to these matters.
We have experience representing both landlords and tenants in residential and commercial lease disputes, ranging from summary evictions to complex litigation. We have also represented both owners and tenants in lease negotiations.
